Perfect-Tech is the practice of one person — me. I've spent most of my career inside real Java/J2EE systems, for real clients, under real deadlines, and Perfect-Tech is just the name on the invoice.

I've spent close to two decades designing, building, and maintaining Java systems for enterprise clients across Central and Western Europe, with engagements that have taken me through Budapest, Vienna, Nuremberg, and Brussels — including several years maintaining application environments for the European Commission.

That work has covered the full lifecycle: greenfield system design, long-running maintenance of systems other people were afraid to touch, integration work across Spring, WebLogic, JBoss and GlassFish, big-data pipelines on Hadoop and Cassandra, and the unglamorous job of telling a client their deadline was wrong before it became an expensive surprise. I keep the stack current on purpose — my most recent coursework is on Java 21, not Java 8.

My formal education is a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and Automation from GAMF — not a computer science degree. In keeping with my own view that practice matters more than certificates, most of what I actually bring to a project was earned on the job, not in a classroom.

Perfect-Tech exists because most of that experience didn't come from a consulting deck. It came from being the person who had to make the system work, explain why it didn't, and fix it under a deadline. That's still the standard I hold every engagement to today.

Two things matter more than anything else in my work: quality and predictability. A system that mostly works is a system that will eventually fail at the worst possible moment. Most of my career has been spent on systems that are not allowed to do that.

Metapay, at metacom holding

As lead developer and architect at metacom holding, I built the Metapay Card payment system — recognized as one of Hungary's notable inventions of 2011 and awarded the National Economy Ministry's Industrial Innovation Prize the same year.

Its financial module processed more than €20 million in transactions live during Sziget Festival 2011 — the kind of event where a payment system doesn't get a second chance if it goes down. I also built the payment-card platform for the MOM Shopping Center, with server-side configuration for card groups, top-up rules, and shop-level allowances.

This is the project that shaped how I think about quality: not a checklist, but a system that has to be right the first time, because the alternative is a few hundred thousand people who can't buy a beer.

Another one

FLAG, for GE Power & Water

As a Big Data/ETL contractor via Starschema, I worked on the Fleet Level Analytics Gauge (FLAG) for GE Power & Water — an architectural refactor of their Text Mining software, including MapReduce jobs that sped up report generation and Talend workflows that replaced manual data wrangling.

It turned scattered scorecard data into something engineers could actually use, instead of hunting through spreadsheets during root-cause analysis. Not a flashy project — the kind this site is named after: not glamorous, just something that made someone else's bad day shorter.
